One YEAR Of Two Storms!

One YEAR Of Two Storms!

One Year of Two Storms

It’s difficult to believe how quickly one year has already passed since the launch of Two Storms, a brand born from chaos and the endless pursuit of embracing it. While it feels impossible to adequately express my gratitude for this past year, it’s important to me that I try.

One year ago, what started as the desire to connect people through shared mental health experiences quickly grew into a greater opportunity to give something back to the community that meant so much to me. In one year, we’ve been able to donate hundreds of dollars to charities supporting not only mental health awareness, but real, impactful severe weather relief. From giving back to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), who provides education, support, and advocacy for those affected by mental illness— to supporting Marco Patriots, who have selflessly served the communities of Appalachia during historic flooding in Hurricane Helene’s aftermath— there’s no greater accomplishment than being able to make a difference.

After several years of sharing stories of impactful severe weather events on YouTube, I had shared emails with and had long conversations with countless people in the community who had firsthand experienced those severe weather events, and oftentimes shared the same fears and anxieties that I had. From firsthand tornado experiences and traumas to passed down stories through families of generational events and how much they’ve impacted communities — there were seemingly endless comments and stories of people’s whose experiences mirrored my own. I grew to realize just how many people bonded through these experiences with weather — both good and bad.

On a more personal note, I started Two Storms during— transparently— one of the most difficult times in my life. So when I decided to start and run a small business by myself, it came from a place of genuine passion— after all, I had nothing to lose. Two Storms didn’t just give me a creative outlet, it quickly gave me a purpose.

So, when I launched Two Storms, I set out with a few core goals: to promote awareness around storm safety, to open conversations about mental health, and to give back to the community.

Looking back on this first year, though I never went in with expectations— we’ve seen incredible support from customers, many of whom have shared their own stories of overcoming personal storms. This community of people, united by resilience, has made Two Storms more than just a brand; it’s a space where people can share, learn, and support each other.

My greatest hope for Two Storms is that through these small pieces of apparel, they can be a conversation starter. A chance for people to feel empowered to face their storms — both physical and metaphorical. Our designs are created to spark awareness and encourage those important dialogues about how the weather impacts our mental health, especially in communities regularly affected by severe weather events.

So, what's next?

Plans For 2025
As we move into the second year of Two Storms in 2025, we have so much more to look forward to! Given the seemingly merciless severe weather season of 2024, it’s becoming increasingly clear that there’s so much more work to do in the way of severe weather awareness and relief work.

For me, that means focusing on content that focuses on storm anxiety, fears, and how to continue to promote education in our communities. This mission continues to be a cornerstone of what I strive to do, and I’m incredibly grateful to every supporter who has helped make this possible. Together, we’ve been able to provide resources for those dealing with storm anxiety, while also educating our followers about the importance of preparedness in the face of severe weather.

I have so many more ideas and projects that I cannot wait to bring to life— and I can’t wait to bring you all on this journey with me!

It goes without saying, but — thank you. The journey of Two Storms has been one of great personal growth, and I hope you all will continue to look forward to more of the brand. As we move into our second year, we’re dedicated to expanding our resources and continuing to create unique products that embody our mission. Thank you for being part of this journey, and here’s to facing many more storms—together. With endless gratitude,

- Carly
